Why Weight Loss with The Hughes Center?
We offer solutions tailored to you.
We now offer GLP-1s, nutrition recommendations, & fitness recommendations all through a Personalized Treatment Plan.
Our providers adapt your treatments as you progress through your weight loss journey. We offer solutions with ongoing support and guidance for lasting weight loss success.
What GLP1 medications are offered?
We currently offer patients semaglutide, the active ingredient in Ozempic and Wegovy or tirzepatide, the active ingredient in Mounjaro and Zepbound.
If you are on semaglutide or tirzepatide, we will automatically bump you up a dose every month. We follow the FDA guidelines for dosing. For semaglutide, we adhere to the following dosing schedule: 0.25mg, 0.5mg, 1mg, 1.7mg, then 2.4mg. For tirzepatide, we adhere to the following schedule: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, then 10mg. The beginning doses are considered loading doses, and the later doses are considered the therapeutic doses. Unfortunately we are unable to skip over doses for our patients. However, we can keep you at the same dose or decrease your dose at any time.

What do I need to do before I visit the office for a weight loss consultation?
The practice will require blood work before filling your second dose of medication.
The labs we require are CBC, CMP, TSH, and A1C.
*Medications may be delayed if these labs aren’t on file by the end of the first month.
Since we do not work through insurance, you are welcome to get lab work using insurance through your own provider. Please send the completed lab work by the end of the first month.
Note we also accept blood work that you have previously had within 6 months.
When you receive your first shipment of medication, the office offers you a scheduled in-person/virtual injection training with one of our MA’s. If you’d prefer to avoid an appointment, you can watch these prerecorded injection training videos for semaglutide or tirzepatide as an alternative.
