LATISSE: Tips for Eyelash Growth

If your eyelashes are not dark and long, and you’re self conscious about them, LATISSE may be just what the doctor ordered. The prescription treatment is for inadequate or not enough eyelashes, otherwise known as hypotrichosis. LATISSE is used to help grow eyelashes longer, thicker and darker, and it’s helpful to have some tips to decide if this is for you. According to, here are the Top Tips to grow your eyelashes and confidence using LATISSE:

  1. Make administering the solution a part of your night time routine.
  2. Keep LATISSE close to everything else you do in preparation for bed each night (i.e. washing face, moisturizing, brushing teeth.)
  3. Only use the solution at night. Your eyelashes will not grow faster with more than one application per day.
  4. Apply LATISSE on clean skin. Remove your makeup and contacts prior to your nightly application.
  5. Use the sterile applicator provided (not cotton swabs); and only apply to the base of upper lashes (not the lower lid).
  6. If you miss a dose, stick to your usual schedule and apply a normal amount the next evening.
  7. Keep the tip of the bottle or applicator away from fingers or anything else. This prevents contamination and potential infections.
  8. Document your journey by taking “Before and After” photos throughout the growth process (i.e. Weeks # 0, 4, 8, 12, 16).
  9. Be patient. Growing eyelashes takes time. By week 8 you should start to see results. The full effect should take place at or around week 16.
