Dermal Filler Use Increases - Hughes Center Blog
Minimally-invasive cosmetic procedures have been on the rise in recent years. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons 2013 Statistics Report shows just that. The most recent results offer up the highest growth numbers for facial rejuvenation procedures. The top five procedures were:
• BOTOX (6.3. million) – an increase of 3 percent.
• Dermal Fillers (2.2. million) – the largest increase of 13 percent.
• Chemical peels (1.2 million) – an increase of 3 percent.
• Laser hair removal (1.1 million) – a decrease of 4 percent.
• Microdermabrasion (974,000) – no change.
The cosmetic surgeons at The Hughes Center for Aesthetic Surgery in Philadelphia and New Jersey, offer several dermal fillers to give patients the facial rejuvenation, youthful, firmer skin they need and want without surgery. The three most popular fillers are Juvederm, Restylane and Perlane, which are synthetic hyaluronic acids. These substances are naturally-occurring in the body, which gives volume and hydration to the skin.
These fillers safely and effectively add volume to lips and smooth lines around the mouth; fill tear troughs or hollows underneath eyes; diminish the appearance of lines and wrinkles; build up cheekbones; lift eyebrows as they fill in the forehead and fill in earlobe creases.
